Create & Manage Modules

What are Modules?

Modules are containers that hold, organize, and sequence your course content. Each Module can contain files, pages, assignments, discussions, text headers, and quizzes.

The Course Template: #JustKeepTeaching has 11 modules:

  • One Module for your syllabus and course resources.
  • Ten weekly Modules (weeks 1-10) for your content.

You can easily move around (sequence) the content in the Module, and keep it closed until your ready to open/publish it.

Why Use Them?

Using Modules is a way to organize and sequence your content that makes sense to you and your students. Since our NEIT community has long worked within the 10-week quarter system, it makes sense to leverage this timeline. Set up your online classroom in the 10 weekly modules provided in the Course Template: #JustKeepTeaching.

How-To

You got Modules! Let's fill' em up! Add your syllabus (if you haven't already) and other content your students need (pages, assignments, discussions, text headers, quizzes). Put your content items in order using drag/drop. Finally, publish your module and make it available to your students.

TIP - Feel free to include a concise topic title along with the module's weekly numbers. You might already have weekly topics in your syllabus. For example:

Week 1  ---> Week 1: Welcome / Overview
Week 2  --->  Week 2: Types of Sailboats
Week 3  --->  Week 3: How to Rig a Sail

Next, add different Types of Content (Make your online classroom spicy!)
