Video Presentation Resources and How-tos

Throughout a course you may create and record a variety of presentations to share in your course. Use the resources below for best practice and technology tips that will take your presentation style up a notch!

USING ZOOM: GENERAL HELP

Zoom

Zoom is one of the friendlier web meeting tools, which is why we use it at New England Tech for our online courses. You may have used Zoom in other online courses for class meetings or team meetings. We recommend using it to record your presentations too.

NOTE: We recommend a computer with webcam and audio to attend a meeting. However you can use your smartphone or tablet if you do not plan to record the session.

  1. Create a free Zoom account or Sign in if you already have one. Sign up for a Free Zoom Account or Sign In. Links to an external site.

  3. Your instructor may request that you share your screen during the council meetings. How Do I Share My Screen? Links to an external site.
  4. There may be team activities in the course and you may decide to use Zoom to get together with classmates. How Do I Invite Others To Join A Meeting? Links to an external site.

RECORDING A ZOOM PRESENTATIOM

You can use Zoom to record meetings or use it to record individual presentations. How do you do this?--By creating a meeting where you are the only attendee! Follow the steps below for recording a Zoom session.  

NOTE: You will need a computer with webcam and audio to record in Zoom. The Zoom mobile app or Chromebook app requires a paid account to record.

  1. Adjust your settings in Zoom. Click on the settings icon ZoomSettings.png in the upper right side of your Zoom screen. Choose Recording from the left navigation bar. Check the boxes beside “Record video during screen sharing” and “Place video next to shared screen in recording.”

USE YOUR SMARTPHONE

You may be using your phone for recording presentations or other video assignments.

RECORD WHILE YOU DRAW

You may record yourself writing on paper for explanations or demonstrations. 

RECORD A WHITEBOARD PRESENTATION

You may record yourself presenting on a White Board for presentations and demonstrations.

 

VIRTUAL and WEBINAR PRESENTATIONS

You can use Zoom to present and record your presentations.
