How to Share a Recorded Zoom Meeting

After you record a Zoom meeting, you can share it in a Canvas page, assignment, discussion, or quiz. There are two ways to share your recording:

  • Share the link
  • Download the file (then upload to Kaltura)

When your recording is ready, Zoom will automatically send you notifications to your NEIT email address (This might take a little time depending on its length.). The email will include a direct link to share your recording and a link to access your Zoom account where you can download it. (Note: You might receive multiple emails from Zoom as your recording is processing.)

Sharing a link is the easiest method if you are not interested in modifying your recording. If you want to add items such as captions or chapters, you need to download your recording and then upload it to Kaltura to use these editing features.

Share the Link

1. Navigate to your NEIT email and open the CLOUD RECORDING email from Zoom. Copy the SHARE RECORDING WITH VIEWERS link and the ACCESS PASSWORD if there is one.

2. Navigate to and open where you want to put the Zoom recording link (page, assignment, discussion, or quiz). Paste it where you want the recording. Include the Access Password if necessary. Make sure to SAVE your edits.

Download the File

1. Navigate to your NEIT email and open the CLOUD RECORDING email from Zoom (this is the same email with the recording link). Click the FOR HOST ONLY link (Note: Depending on which Zoom email you open, the link message might be "These files are available to view, download, and edit on the recording detail page.").

2. If you are not already logged into Zoom, you will be prompted to do so. You will be taken directly to your recording. Click DOWNLOAD.
