Grading

What is Grading?

Of course, you know what grading is! But do you know how to grade using SpeedGrader? Grading in SpeedGrader allows you to grade like you do on paper but online. Here is a high-level map of the Grading features in SpeedGrader.

Why Use It?

Grading using SpeedGrader allows you to effectively and efficiently grade your students' work (A win/win for you and your students!). Here are brief descriptions of each map section.

1 - Gradebook navigates you back to your Gradebook. Visibility hides or posts grades. Settings has more options, shortcuts, and help.

2 - The Assignment Name, when it is Due, and the Course.

3 - Stats include the:

      • Number of assignments graded / total number of submissions
      • Average score and percentage
      • Submission number / total number of submissions

4 - Previous/Next Submission moves you back and forward between students' submissions.

5 - Preview of the student's actual submission.

6 - Markup Tools include ways to annotate on the actual submission (point, highlight, freetext, strikethrough, free draw, area). Download annotated submission and zoom in and out of the submission.

7 - Submission Date is when the student turned in the work.

8 - Download File downloads the student's work. (If you want to download all student submissions for an assignment, you do that from your Gradebook.)

9 - Enter a Grade, which will automatically be entered in your Gradebook too.

10 - Leave general Comments for your student (attach a file, video or audio).

How-To

To use the Grading features in SpeedGrader, you must first create an assignment and allow online submissions.
