Gradebook & SpeedGrader: Overview
What are Gradebook & SpeedGrader?
Gradebook is the area where you keep track of your students' submissions and enter their grades on a high-level. When your students submit a graded assignment, discussion, or quiz, it automatically goes to your online Gradebook.
SpeedGrader is the area where you can view your students' actual work on a detailed-level. SpeedGrader displays one submission at a time and allows you to add comments, provide feedback, and also enter grades.
Although Gradebook and SpeedGrader have different features, they are linked to each other. For example, if you enter a grade in Gradebook, it will automatically appear in SpeedGrader (and vice-versa).

Why Use Them?
Using Gradebook and SpeedGrader allows you to easily grade your students' work and provide feedback in your online classroom. Gradebook also has a built-in grade calculator that keeps track of grades while your course is running and for the final grades themselves.
These two tools (Gradebook and SpeedGrader) have been designed to help you manage your favorite task of grading, and they work quite well. Please refrain from using email to accomplish getting and grading your students' work. Using email will make a logistic nightmare for you and your students (Trust us on this one!).
