Flip Your Class Overview
What do we mean by flipping your class? Flipping is a type of blended learning where content is delivered outside of the classroom and classroom time is used for working with the content. This can take the form of brainstorming, problem-solving, practice of concepts and skills, discussions, group work, and many other interactive learning activities.
In the move to remote teaching you cannot do what you would normally do in the classroom, so you need to get creative and think about what types of content and activities can be done online in Canvas and which ones need to be done in a live online session. You will want to tack back and forth between them to get to your learning destination.
This module will explore the various routes you can choose to get to your learning destination. Each activity that you would do in class is linked to a page in the module. Each page defines the topic, discusses why it is important, and presents how-tos and examples for both Online in Canvas and Live Sessions.
The chart below gives you a birds-eye view of the possible tools to approach the topic and the time and skill level required to set it up.
= skill level needed. 1=basic level; 2=intermediate; 3=advanced training recommended
= time to set up. 1=quick; 2= moderate; 3= serious time investment
