Following the end of this week, you should be able to name, locate, and describe the functions of the major anatomical areas and structures of the heart when provided with a dissected sheep’s heart or a diagram of a human heart. 

Looking Ahead

The next part of the cardiovascular system that we will study are the arterial and venous blood vessel system

Blood is found in blood vessels and pumped around the body by the heart.. This week we will be studying the structure of the blood vessels. By the end of the week, you should be able to describe the differences between arteries and veins and be able to identify the major arteries and veins of the body.

You should prepare for next week by downloading and printing the powerpoint for the Blood Vessels and skimming through Chapter 19 of your text.
